Located only 10 to 15 minutes walking from Roppongi station, The National Art Center, Tokyo, was one of the museums I would suggest for every art lover out there. In fact, I went to the art center just for the jazz concert straight from New York City, it was an hour of chilling music ever! However, after that I was walking around the museum, which was quite huge and you may need an hour to appreciate a wide variety of the artwork. Actually, the entry fee is less than 1,000 yen. Somehow, I was able to got in for free. So, that was a night to remember!
In Tokyo, there are a lot of museums you can visit, not just an art one. If you search Google, you may come across many suggested museums to go in Tokyo, such as Ghibli museum, and etc. Actually, I have almost 2 weeks left in Tokyo, therefore I would love to explore the museums as many as possible. Yet, my call is about the local areas, I can't really promise anything...(lol)
As mentioned, The National Art Center, Tokyo is pretty big, so you may want to go to many floors all at once. Besides, there is a cute little shop where you can buy a gift back home, including the postcards, t-shirt, and etc.
