Christmas is coming up, and of course, it is the season when retailers make the most money out of it! I love going shopping between November to December because I can purchase my favourite products on sales. However, sometimes, I also buy the products online since I do not want to go where everyone goes. So, the question is 'can we save money from Christmas shopping?' And my answer is YES!
I LOVE USING A DISCOUNT CODE WHEN BUYING ITEMS ONLINE
Some of the clothes in my wardrobes were gifted from the brands, so at least I can save some money from being a fashion blogger because of my career. However, I also love finding a discount code to purchase whatever I want online too. Although, some pure players have already provided cheap clothes for the consumers, but the delivery cost has always been an issue. Not only the clothes, but also other equipment I have purchased online. My boyfriend was once purchasing a tyre online. Yes, you wouldn't believe but there are a lot of cheap tyres online available for everyone who wants to save the money, while looking for the new tyres for the car.
When I did a research during my Masters, believe it or not, more than 60% of the UK shoppers feel hesitate to pay an additional cost in a delivery service. Even when I sell my stuff on Depop, most of the messages I have received are the concern about the shipping price because those who have contacted me so far do not want to pay for it. Therefore, the solution I have used up until now is to 1) Only use 10% of my income in shopping or not shopping at all 2) find a discount code or gift voucher in order to reduce the delivery price (at least). It is very risky when we can't track our orders from the retailers because we feel unsure when or if we are going to receive them or not.
GROUPON CAN BE ONE OF THE ALTERNATIVES
I am not a shopaholic because I don't know what to buy. In fact, most of the money I spent on is 'food' lol. However, when I decide to either go to fashion retailers, or online stores, I have bought some items/services with the discount codes via Groupon because I've found it useful (For a person who don't know what to buy like me). Sometimes, when it comes to travelling, and beauty services, Groupon has helped me save a lot of money! Actually, it is fun (for me) to scroll down the page just to find the greatest deal in terms of hotels since most of the hotels can be quite expensive due to the high season of X'mas and New Year. We can't just expect to get the great value at the moment when the price of most of everything is going up and up. Another section I have bought the coupons from Groupon is 'beauty&spa'
Obviously, massage and spa can be really expensive here in the UK. The foot massage price I paid when I was in Bangkok, Thailand was about 4 pounds for an hour, but here is like 40 quid. So, I would say that I would rather go for a relaxing treat only when I have an offer. Normally, I spend at least 2 hours at the spa, so I really can't afford the price here when I know how cheap it can actually be in Asia. However, there are some other brands or sections we can buy from Groupon too such as Adidas, Birchbox, or even Neiman Marcus. It depends on what are we going to buy or treat ourselves.
